How the Reading and Writing Success System Works
Our Reading and Writing Success System teaches foundational literacy through a simple, research‑aligned sequence that works for early readers, older learners, and students with dyslexia. Whether your child is just starting out or filling gaps, the system builds strong sound–letter–writing foundations that lead to confident reading and writing.
These stages support learners aged 2.5–15+, including older students who need to rebuild foundational literacy skills. Each stage builds on the last, ensuring progress is clear, measurable, and achievable.
Three Stages of Learning
1.
Foundational Early skills
Children build the essential sound–letter base needed for reading and writing.
Focus areas:
- Speech sounds
- Letter formation
- Blending to read
- Segmenting to write
Short daily activities and audio models make this stage quick and repeatable.
2.
Phrase and Cluster Work
Children move from single words to fluent phrase reading and writing.
Focus areas:
- Reading and writing phrases
- Vowel and consonant practise
- Consonant clusters
- Common irregular “thorny” words
3.
Sentences and Comprehension
Children develop independent reading, writing, and understanding.
Focus areas:
